President
I can truly say that mountain biking and cycling of all different kinds have been my passion for many years now. I've worked in our local bike shops for over 11 years and have been involved in many community biking events to share this great hobby and sport. I love our little corner of Alberta and all the great trails our three different areas have to offer. I am also a mountain bike instructor and love to teach people how to ride to enjoy biking even more. This year I have decided to step up and dedicate more of my time to our local bike club and help Allison with our Redcliff trails!

Past President
Hey, I'm Joel - an avid drinker of the mountain bike kool-aid. The poison set years ago as a child growing up in Prince George BC where (shockingly) I would disappear for hours in the backcountry with not much more than my mountain bike. The friends I made at that time persist to today, in part because of the camaraderie that develops with adventures involving bikes. Today I continue to build connection through mountain biking, whether geographical or human. I am currently serving as the 2024 670 Board President, Director of Medicine Hat, and Race Director for the Battle Creek Showdown. Now and then, I ride too!

Director of Redcliff
Hey there! I'm Allison and currently am serving as a co-Director of Redcliff area trails. I am no stranger to the 670 Board of Directors. From 2014-2020 I served as Secretary/Treasurer, Vice President, Club President and pretty much everything in between. After a little hiatus, I rejoined the board in 2023 to start a new role designed to co-manage our Redcliff trails alongside Jesse Davis. Originally from Miramichi, New Brunswick, I began riding in 2011, and moved out to Medicine Hat in 2013. As soon as I found the 670 Collective, my love for the sport and the community grew. In 2014, I met my partner Aron through mutual friends of our club (who knew they played cupid?) and am proud to call Medicine Hat my home. Together, we enjoy riding our local trails and travelling in our van to lots of fun mountain bike destinations such as Moab and Fernie. When not on the trails, we love spending time with our fur baby, KaCee!
Favorite Local Trails: Sidewinder (Medicine Hat), Dialpack (Redcliff) & Mystery Trail/Hoser (Elkwater)

Director of Elkwater
Hi, I'm Kurtis. and I'm back for round 2 serving on the board of directors. This time I am overseeing trail management and development within Elkwater. I served previously on this board as Vice President, President, and Director of Trails, but stepped down in 2020. I took a few years off to focus on other things but I am back now and excited to help grow this sport.
My free time away from the club is mostly filled with other bike stuff. I enjoy designing and building my own bicycles, as well as working as a trail builder from time to time.

Assisting Redcliff
Hi, I’m Janine. I’m new to the Board this year and am assisting Allison and with the Redcliff trails! I’m excited to be a part of this community of bike enthusiasts who are collaborating to create and maintain such an amazing area for biking in our little corner of Alberta! I’m a born and raised Hatter. I fell in love with mountain biking in 2016 when I rode Lazy Lizard in Fernie on my circa 1995 hardtail. A few years and bike upgrades later, I’m still having a blast! Biking is just one of the ways I get to play in the dirt. I’m into all things construction and I absolutely love my career as partner in a concrete foundation company based out of Redcliff. While I’m game for a winter fat tire ride, I prefer summer weather and any free time I have that’s not on my bike is spent hiking, camping, paddle boarding, or with a cup of coffee and a book.
Favorite Local Trails: Mr. Burnside (Medicine Hat), Viper (Eco Dale) & Mystery/Mazama Drop (Elkwater)

Secretary
Hi there! I’m Susan and am new to the Board in the Secretary role as of November 2024. I’ve been a member of 670 for many years and have been enjoying mountain biking off and on since the early 90s! Yup, old school! I moved to Medicine Hat almost 20 years ago and have loved seeing the mountain bike community and trail system develop. We truly do enjoy a diversity of trails - from the semi-arid coulee trails of Redcliff to the timbered tracks of Elkwater. We’re so fortunate to have these gems in this corner of the province! I joined the Board because of the 670 community and my belief that facilitating time spent outdoors is important to our well-being.

Treasurer
Hi! I'm Donita and I'm new to the mountain biking world. I was born and raised in Didsbury, Alberta. Growing up I was involved in volleyball, baseball and skiing. I moved to Medicine Hat in 1990 and I love it here. I started cycling in 2017 and mountain biking in 2023. I am still learning to “Hold on and ride it out!” but I really love the sport and the people you meet every year. This is my first year on the 670 board and I'm serving as the treasurer.
